Rishma 2.5 month checkup : Jul 23 2009

Today we took Rishma to University Pediatrics for her 2nd month checkup and shots. The nurses who weighed her in and are Nim's compadres, cuddled Rishma and asked if we were feeding her Steak because Rishma was quite big with fat rolls embellishing her and for her to fare in the 50th percentile with her weight, was delusive. Rishma was cooperative with the nurses and with Dr. Jennings who did a thorough check of Rishma. She followed the doctor's every move around the examination room, eyeballing her throughout, giving the doctor enough aplomb about Rishma's alertness. Then it was time for the hard part of the visit - shots . Today Rishma would be getting 3 shots - Diptheria Tetanus Pertussis, Influenza Type B and Pneumococcal. As nurse Karen injected the 3 concoctions to 10 week young Rishma's buttery thighs, after an oral dose of Tylenol & Rota virus, little Rishma went into a caterwaul once after each of the 3 boosters. She probably lost trust in us briefly after the 3 shots in succession. Finally Rishma's hard part was over and it was time to head back home and for me to get back to my work-from-home at 3:30 PM.
